- chronic illness & disability

hi, i’m sarah
a neuroqueer, feminist social worker, hypnotherapist, artist, and facilitator.
i’m passionate about supporting other careworkers, creatives, and changemakers feel nourished and resourced in their work.
over the past twenty or so years i’ve had the opportunity to work in numerous non profit settings, while engaged in community projects and learning everything i can about meeting the ongoing crises of our time.
i’ve had the opportunity to work in harm reduction, outreach, supportive housing, and in program development and coordination.
i’m also a community organizer. i’m especially proud to have been involved in co-creating ‘Canada”s first and to this day only, national, peer-led symposium created entirely by and for HIV and HepC positive youth. i’ve also coordinated everything from fundraising campaigns to art shows to theme camps and multi-day events. i also organized queer dance parties for the better part of a decade.
i currently work both in private practice and as a counsellor with my local hospice society, where my focus is supporting caregivers of folks who are facing their end of life, providing outreach within the hospital system, and the creation and facilitation of support groups for traumatic loss.
the depth of my experience and my commitment to live the embodiment of my politics and values -my praxis – allows me to show up in my work as a mentor and consultant in a way that’s approachable, down to earth, and accessible. if that sounds like it could be a good fit for you, come join me for office hours or schedule an introductory call.
